Train Dispatcher · traindispatchergame.com · Effective September 1, 2026
Train Dispatcher has no accounts, no sign-up, no cookies, no advertising and no analytics or tracking of any kind. There is nobody watching you play.
Your dispatcher name, your scores and your progress are saved on your own device and stay there. The one exception is the Daily Trick leaderboard, which — when it is switched on — publishes the name you typed alongside your score. Type a nickname, not personal information.
The sections below are the full policy.
Train Dispatcher (“the Game”) is a free browser game published at traindispatchergame.com and operated by Michael Civitillo (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you play. You can reach us at feedback@traindispatchergame.com.
Stating this plainly, because it is most of the policy:
The Game keeps your progress in your browser's local storage. This is storage on your own computer, tablet or phone. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot read it.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
pscc_name | The dispatcher name you type, so the board greets you the same way next time. |
pscc_career | Career totals, best tricks per desk and commendations earned. |
td_daily | Your recent Daily Trick results, so a replay is marked as practice rather than overwriting the day's official run. |
td_inprogress | A snapshot of a shift you are part-way through, so Resume Trick can put you back where you were if the tab closes. |
pscc_sound, td_difficulty, td_role, td_territory | Your preferences: sound on or off, difficulty, which desk you work and which territory is loaded. |
None of it is personal information unless you choose to make it so by typing your real name into the dispatcher name field. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data for traindispatchergame.com in your browser settings, or by using your browser's private/incognito mode, in which nothing persists after the window closes.
The Game also installs a service worker and an offline cache so it keeps working without a connection. That cache holds the Game's own files — code, styles and icons — and no information about you.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web server on the internet, Cloudflare's network receives the technical details necessary to deliver a page: your IP address, the address you requested, your browser's user-agent string, and the time. This is processed by Cloudflare as our hosting and security provider for delivering the site, preventing abuse and keeping it available. We do not use it to identify or track individuals, and we do not combine it with anything else. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We set no cookies of our own. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security
cookie (such as __cf_bm) to tell human traffic from automated traffic. It
carries no identifier we can read, is not used for advertising or analytics, and is the
kind of cookie that does not require consent. Nothing else on this site writes a cookie.
The Daily Trick is one shift a day, the same for everyone. If standings are enabled, then when you finish a Daily Trick the Game sends the following to our leaderboard service, and nothing else:
Two things worth knowing. First, the name is published — it appears on a standings list that anyone playing that day can see. Choose a nickname; please do not type a full real name, an email address, a phone number or anything else you would not want public. Second, entries are kept only for the day's board and are deleted automatically after about 40 days.
To stop a single address from flooding the board, the leaderboard service counts submissions per hour. It does this using a one-way cryptographic hash of the IP address combined with a secret — the raw IP address is never written to storage — and that counter expires within roughly an hour. It cannot be used to identify you or to link your submissions over time.
If standings are not enabled, the Game makes no network requests at all once loaded: the Daily still works, scored entirely on your own device.
If you write to feedback@traindispatchergame.com, we will have your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to read and reply to your feedback and to fix what you tell us about. We keep correspondence no longer than it is useful for that, and we do not add you to any mailing list — there is no mailing list.
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our lawful basis for the limited processing above is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): delivering a website people asked to load, protecting it from abuse, and running an optional leaderboard for players who choose to finish a Daily Trick. Because we set no cookies and store nothing on your device beyond what is strictly necessary to make the Game you requested work, no consent banner is required. We are the controller for that processing.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We support all of them, and here is the practical shape of it:
To make any request, email feedback@traindispatchergame.com. We do not charge for this, and we will not ask you to create an account to exercise a right. UK and EU visitors also have the right to complain to their local data protection authority.
Train Dispatcher is suitable for all ages and is built so that no personal information is needed to play it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and nothing in the Game asks a player for identifying details. The dispatcher name field is free text, so we ask parents to make the same point we make above: use a nickname, not a real name. If you believe a child has entered personal information into a leaderboard entry, email us and we will remove it promptly.
The site is served from Cloudflare's global network, and the leaderboard service, if enabled, runs on it too. Requests are handled by whichever location is nearest to you, so the limited technical data described above may be processed in the United States or in other countries.
The site is served over HTTPS. We keep the amount of information we hold as close to zero as the Game allows, which is the most effective security measure available to us: leaderboard entries expire automatically after about 40 days, abuse counters within about an hour, and everything else never leaves your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted on the Game's title screen. Continuing to play after a change means the updated policy applies.
